About Cecilia

I teach English as a Second Language to students from kindergarten through twelfth grade, from October 26 through June 18.

My classes are built around the four skills students need to use English with confidence: listening, speaking, reading and project based writing. Students learn best when they make something real, so every unit ends with a project they can show to classmates and family.

I share my lesson plans openly so that parents, tutors and fellow teachers can use them too.

My approach

Start with what students know

Units begin with family, school and community, so English connects to real life.

Support, then independence

Sentence frames, pictures and models help every learner join in, then gradually fade.

Celebrate the finished product

Each project is shared with an audience, which gives students a real reason to write well.
